NOW HIRING
Architectural Project Coordinator / Designer
Remote · Full-Time · Southeastern New Mexico & West Texas Market
About BSTK Studio
BSTK Studio is a growing architectural practice based in Carlsbad, New Mexico, serving the communities of southeastern New Mexico and West Texas. Our work spans public institutional facilities, healthcare, commercial, industrial, and historic preservation projects for municipal, county, school district, and private clients across the region.
We are building something different: a remote-first firm designed to provide responsive, high-quality architectural services to rural communities that are traditionally underserved by the profession. Our clients value local knowledge, fast turnaround, and practical solutions over flashy design. If you want to do meaningful work that makes a real difference in real communities, this is the place.
The Role
This is our first hire, and it matters. We need someone who can take ownership of project production and coordination so the principal can focus on client relationships, business development, and quality control. You will be the backbone of project delivery across a diverse portfolio of active work.
This is not a junior drafting position. We need someone who can run with a project from schematic design through construction administration with minimal oversight.
What You Will Do
• Produce construction documents in Revit for commercial, institutional, and industrial projects
• Coordinate with MEP, structural, and civil consultants throughout design and CA phases
• Manage submittals, RFIs, and construction administration documentation
• Assist with code analysis, building code research, and zoning review (IBC, IEBC, ADA, NFPA)
• Prepare project specifications and coordinate with spec consultants as needed
• Support proposal development and fee estimation for new project pursuits
• Attend virtual client and consultant meetings; occasional in-person site visits as needed
• Help develop and refine firm standards, templates, and production workflows
What We Are Looking For
Required:
• 3–10 years of experience in an architectural production or project coordination role
• Proficiency in Revit; comfort with a cloud-based workflow (Autodesk Construction Cloud, Microsoft 365)
• Strong working knowledge of IBC, ADA, and construction detailing for commercial/institutional projects
• Ability to work independently, manage your own time, and communicate proactively in a remote environment
• Professional degree in architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) or equivalent experience
Preferred:
• Familiarity with New Mexico or Texas building codes, permitting processes, and regional construction practices
• Experience with healthcare, public safety, or educational facility types
• ARE progress or architectural licensure (NM reciprocity a plus)
• Experience with PEMB (pre-engineered metal building) coordination and documentation
• Located within the broader region (New Mexico, West Texas, or Mountain West) for occasional site visits
• Strong presentation skills utilizing Sketchup, Enscape, Twinmotion, or other rendering programs
What We Offer
• Competitive salary: $60,000–$80,000 depending on experience and qualifications
• Fully remote position with flexible scheduling
• Clear path to growth as the firm scales — early hires shape the culture and have first opportunity for leadership roles
• Diverse, interesting project portfolio — no two weeks look the same
• Direct mentorship and collaboration with the firm principal on every project
• Support for ARE preparation and professional licensure
• Opportunity to help build a firm from the ground up
Why This Opportunity Is Different
Most architecture firms hire you to be a cog. We are hiring you to be a co-builder. BSTK Studio is at an inflection point: we have more work than one person can handle, strong client relationships across multiple public and private entities, and a clear vision for becoming the go-to regional firm in southeastern New Mexico and West Texas. The person who takes this role will have an outsized impact on how this firm grows, what it becomes, and how it operates.
If you have ever wanted to be part of building something from scratch — with real autonomy, real responsibility, and real upside — this is that opportunity.
How to Apply
Send the following to jobs@bstk.studio:
• Your resume or CV
• A brief cover letter explaining why this role interests you and what you bring to a small, growing firm
• A work sample or portfolio excerpt showing construction document quality (redacted as needed for confidentiality)
We are not looking for a portfolio full of renders and competition entries. We want to see how you put together a set of drawings, how you think about details, and how you coordinate a project. Show us your best CD set.
